As I am new to this software and Andreas post caught my attention, I decided to test the time feature too… For now I didn't manage to display the global time tab too…
I found a time tab when displaying the details of an issue, as long as the start timer button. So I started the timer (on an issue marked as 'implemented') then stopped it after a few seconds. Several things happened:
1) the timer animation on the traybar was quite ugly (as if there was some kind of transparency drawing problem, I only saw a white blob with pixels dancing around it!)
2) the timer icon stayed on my traybar even after the timer was stopped. I then started it a second time, and a second icon appeared, but this one disappeared when stopped. The first one is still there though…
3) nothing showed in the time tab of the issues' details, but perhaps that's because I didn't take any action while the timer was running and because I'm not sure to understand how it works yet…
The screenshots are out of date. I never really liked the way the old "Time" tab worked, so when time tracking was updated it was removed in favor of a new "Time" tab that only shows the time log for a specific issue.
If it's important though, I have no problem putting it back in, or if there is something that was particularly useful about the way it worked, let me know about it.
By the way, I agree that the timer animation looks pretty bad, especially in Windows. I plan on replacing it with an image that simply yshows the total time logged on the active issue. Also, I've never seen the icon hang around after stopping the timer. I'll have to see if I can figure that out.
Then it's ok! I just thought it is a bug :)
