1.2. Planning

Predictive methodologies focus heavily on up-front planning, design, and documentation. To contrast, agile methodologies rely more on peoples' abilities to learn, understand, and solve problems as they come. It is important, however, to be able to accurately estimate the time that projects and features are likely to take, but most agile methodologies do not claim to be able to predict long term schedules and feature sets with high precision. Rather they are able to adapt throughout the life of a project and make realistic estimates and decisions intended to deliver the most features within a reasonable time.

That being said, a degree of planning is certainly practical. AgileTrack facilitates planning by allowing the definition releases and projects, prioritization of issues, etc. It provides and ways to estimate, view, and track progress so that accurate plan can continue to be made, and objective schedules can be reached.
